Contribute a document or correction
How to prepare a well-sourced photograph, archival record, testimony or correction for editorial review.
Identify the source
Record the place, commune, original title, date or approximate period, photographer or author, shelfmark, repository and link to the original record. Distinguish transcription from interpretation.
Check publication rights
State who holds reproduction and online publication rights and provide written permission if available. Ownership of a print or scan alone does not grant publication rights.
Preserve the original
Keep an unaltered scan; send transcription and comments separately. Retain marginal notes, institutional marks, captions and credits. For oral history, record the speaker’s consent.
Editorial review
Entries are checked for place names, dates, duplicates, privacy, authenticity and rights. Uncertain claims remain marked as such, with a citation and revision history.
Submissions are not open yet
The editor’s public contact and a secure file deposit have not been confirmed. Do not send private documents to an unverified address. Prepare a record using the French printable contribution sheet; submission details will be published there when available.
